KCK WOMEN’S CHAMBER OF COMMERCE COLLABORATES WITH KCK CHAMBER TO FORM KCK WOMEN’S CHAMBER NETWORK

Kansas City, KS – The Kansas City Kansas Women’s Chamber of Commerce, celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year, has collaborated with the Kansas City Kansas Chamber of Commerce to form the KCK Women’s Chamber Network. The KCK Women’s Chamber Network will continue the traditions and support of women in our community. The Chamber aims to empower, connect, and position women through networking events, professional development programs, and leadership development opportunities.

“Over the past 100 years the KCK Women’s Chamber has been led by visionary, strong women – many who have moved into positions of authority. These individuals have shown that women are no longer considered outside of the mainstream. We are leaders within our businesses, our communities, our state, and our country,” said Cathy Harding, President & CEO of the Wyandotte Health Foundation, President of the KCK Women’s Chamber of Commerce and a Board member of  the KCK Chamber.

“The Kansas City, Kansas Women’s Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors recognized that this era is very different from 100 years ago, and as a result voted to dissolve the corporation. The era of excluding women is over,” she said.

The women’s division will focus on the needs of women in business and advocate for the development of women in all stages of their careers. WCN will host programs throughout the year dedicated to  women in business, including some specifically designed for senior-level business leaders and owners (previously the KCK Chamber’s Women’s Executive Network).

The rollout of the KCK Women’s Chamber Network comes at an appropriate time as our country celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Women’s Suffrage as well as the 100 years of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce. The spirit of strong women in business continues.

“We give thanks to the dedicated women that fought for equality, and to those that continue to drive forward the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace,” said Daniel Silva, President & CEO of the KCK Chamber.

“The KCK Chamber is honored to collaborate and convene these impressive women in business and offer programs and networking opportunities to continue to amplify their careers.”
