Dear KCK Chamber Members and Partners,
I am delighted to provide you with an update on our recent KCK Chamber legislative visit to Topeka, where we had the privilege of meeting with several key legislators and government officials to discuss some of the most pressing issues affecting Wyandotte County.
KCK Chamber leadership, including Drew Eanes, JE Dunn/2024 KCK Chamber Board Chair and Daniel Silva, President & CEO, KCK Chamber, had a series of highly productive meetings with Senate President Ty Masterson, Speaker of the House Dan Hawkins, Speaker Pro Tem Blake Carpenter, and KDOT Secretary Calvin Reed. We also had the opportunity to lunch with the Wyandotte County Delegation and present our 2024 Public Policy Agenda. I am pleased to report that our message was received positively, and our efforts were well-received.
One of the primary topics that we discussed during our meetings was infrastructure, particularly the critical need to improve bridges in Wyandotte County. We also addressed property taxes, economic development for the World Cup in 2026, and workforce development. These discussions were insightful and gave us a better understanding of the best path forward for our community.
In addition to our official meetings, we hosted a reception at the Celtic Fox Pub & Restaurant, which was attended by over 50 legislators. This gathering provided us with an excellent opportunity to foster relationships and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders in the state of Kansas.
Overall, our Topeka trip was a huge success, and we are excited to continue working with our partners in state government. We will remain committed to advocating for the best interests of our community and keeping you updated on our progress.
Thank you for your continued support. You can view the 2024 KCK Chamber Public Policy Agenda below.
Sincerely,
Nick Privitera
